Crocker v. Wells Fargo Bank
Crocker v. Wells Fargo Bank, 2009 WL 5135176 (Tex. App.—Corpus Christi 2009, pet. denied)
This dispute about a bank account led to a judgment of $230,000 in actual damages and $30,000,000 in punitive damages. Wells Fargo Bank hired Beck Redden to appeal the judgment. The court of appeals reversed the entire judgment: it eliminated not only the $30,000,000 in punitive damages, but even the $230,000 in actual damages. Beck Redden partner David Gunn was lead counsel on the appeal and was assisted by his colleague Erin Huber.
