In re The Matter of the Estate of Leo L. Block, Decesased

Troy Ford served as lead counsel on behalf of the Estate of Leo L. Block, a wealthy retired businessman in San Antonio, Texas. Leo Block set up a family corporation into which he placed over $15 million. A director of the newly formed family company defrauded the company of millions of dollars which he then funneled into various companies owned by the director. The director then bought himself a $1.4 million dollar home using money taken from the family company. Mr. Ford obtained the return of the house taken by the director through summary judgment. A two week jury trial followed beginning on June 26, 2012. The jury found that the director committed fraud and breached his fiduciary duty. The jury awarded both compensatory and punitive damages.  The Court entered Judgment in the amount of $9,499,742.22. That judgment is final.
