Barbara is committed to excellence.

Barbara clerked for Chief Justice Nathan L. Hecht of the Supreme Court of Texas. During this clerkship, she engaged with cutting-edge legal issues in the Texas appellate system. Barbara later clerked for Judge Lynn N. Hughes of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas, where she gained valuable insight into federal motion practice and procedure. These clerkships exposed Barbara to the skills needed to persuade judges and courts at the trial and appellate level. She uses these experiences to vigorously advocate for her clients.

Before law school, Barbara was selected to join Teach for America and taught middle school Spanish for two years outside of Baltimore, Maryland. She was designated as a highly effective teacher – the highest annual evaluation rating in the school district – both years.
