Reading a room and thinking on her feet, while also cultivating the habit of meticulous preparation, are skills Lena honed as a Ninth Grade English teacher and competitive standup comedian prior to law school.

At the University of Texas School of Law, Lena transferred these strengths to the courtroom. Through the Criminal Defense Clinic, she co-chaired two misdemeanor jury trials, which gave her experience with multiple aspects of trial advocacy from jury selection to final argument, as well as multiple contested, evidentiary hearings. In addition to trial work, Lena has insight into appellate advocacy from her time as a Texas Supreme Court Intern to Justice Debra Lehrmann.

Prior to joining the firm, Lena was a Law Clerk to Senior U.S. District Judge David Briones where she assiduously researched and wrote, while also gaining more courtroom experience and perspective from the other side of the bench. As an advocate, Lena especially embraces the nexus where meticulousness and improvisation must meet in order to advance the goals of Beck Redden clients in the courtroom.
