Beck Redden LLP is pleased to announce that the State Bar of Texas Office of Minority Affairs and the Steering Committee of the Texas Minority Counsel Program (TMCP) will award Lena Silva with the 2024 TMCP Rising Star Award at the TMCP Keynote Awards Luncheon on October 24, 2024.

“Lena is a true champion of other diverse women in the legal profession, consistently paving the way for the next generation.” – Fariha Jawed, Associate, Beck Redden LLP

The TMCP Rising Star Award recognizes an attorney who has made strides early in their practice to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the legal profession through involvement with bar and/or community activities. In addition to being an advocate in the courtroom, Lena is a dedicated community ambassador, ally, mentor, and relationship builder. Currently, Lena serves as the Houston Young Lawyers Association (HYLA) President-Elect and is leading HYLA’s Allyship and Spanish Committees. She also sits on the Houston Hispanic Bar Association (HisBA) Board, earning a HisBA President’s Award three years in a row in recognition of her dedication and service to the organization.

“Throughout my law school experience, Lena has been more than a mentor – she has been a compass, always pointing me in the right direction and encouraging me to reach for the stars. Having no prior connections to the legal field, Lena’s wisdom and guidance have been instrumental in helping me secure valuable summer internships and pushing me to never settle for anything less than what I deserve.” – Andres Barboza, Rising 3L Law Student at South Texas School of Law
