Beck Redden’s role in Federal Trade Commission v. Tempur Sealy International Inc. et al. was spotlighted in Law360’s “Top 4 Texas Court Rulings of 2025: Midyear Report,” which recognized the case for its prominence as a major antitrust challenge involving a $5 billion merger, stating that the court found that “Tempur Sealy’s planned $5 billion purchase of Mattress Firm would likely increase competition, rejecting the Federal Trade Commission’s bid to pause the deal.”

U.S. District Judge Eskridge’s ruling denied the FTC’s motion for a preliminary injunction, clearing the way for the acquisition to proceed. Beck Redden served as Texas counsel in the case, working closely with Cleary Gottlieb to defend the transaction against government challenge.
