Garrett is a first-chair trial lawyer who represents plaintiffs and defendants in high-stakes commercial disputes nationwide, obtaining significant results in complex business matters.

Garrett’s recent successes include a 15-minute unanimous jury verdict in his clients’ favor as lead counsel and a $438 million federal antitrust judgment obtained alongside Alistair Dawson and Alex Roberts.

Having tried multiple cases involving more than $100 million in dispute, Garrett approaches complex matters with the end in mind—developing clear, persuasive narratives designed to resonate with judges, juries, and arbitrators. By design, Garrett maintains a broad litigation practice, obtaining significant results in oil and gas, energy, antitrust, securities, trust and estate, and other complex commercial matters. While Garrett focuses on preparing cases for trial, he recognizes that in some matters the best result is a business solution that avoids litigation altogether. As such, Garrett works closely with clients from pre-suit strategy through trial, balancing trial readiness with practical business solutions.

A first-generation college student from a small town in southeast Texas, Garrett brings a grounded perspective and strong work ethic to his practice. He understands that effective advocacy requires a narrative that resonates with everyday people and careful attention to how litigation affects his clients’ businesses and lives. Garrett brings that approach to clients ranging from large company general counsel to entrepreneurs and individuals.

Garrett’s practical approach is reinforced by his reputation as a trial lawyer prepared to proceed to verdict when a reasonable pre-trial resolution is unavailable. Garrett’s courtroom work has earned recognition from peers and opposing counsel alike. For example, following his first jury trial alongside David J. Beck in a Texas state court securities fraud action, class counsel in the related class action described Garrett as a “force of nature at trial,” highlighting his “impeachment of one fact witness after another” and his “simple narrative, forcing defendants to deal with the ‘mind numbing’ details.” Since then, Garrett has participated in eight trials and examined more than twenty witnesses on direct or cross-examination. He recently delivered closing argument in a case involving more than $500 million in dispute and has served as lead counsel in three jury trials—delivering opening statements, voir dire, and closing arguments.

Garrett has been recognized as a “Rising Star” in Business Litigation by Super Lawyers (2023–2025) and as “Ones to Watch” by The Best Lawyers in America (2025). He is active in the Texas legal community and serves as Vice President of the Texas Young Lawyers Association, is a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, and is a graduate of LeadershipSBOT (Class of 2021).

Prior to joining Beck Redden, Garrett clerked for the Honorable Alfred H. Bennett of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas, where he assisted in presiding over fourteen federal jury trials.
