Summer Associates

Our summer program is designed to allow law students to experience life as an associate at Beck Redden.

Summer associates perform a variety of substantive legal work for actual clients under the supervision of Beck Redden attorneys, and they experience first-hand the nature of our practice by attending trials, hearings, depositions, client meetings, and strategy sessions. There is zero “make work” in our program.

During the summer, the Firm also offers a variety of social and community activities. These informal get-togethers allow summer associates the opportunity to better acquaint themselves with their colleagues outside of the office.

The ideal summer associate candidate has excelled academically and demonstrated strong written and oral advocacy skills. Candidates must be interested in litigation and ready to assume responsibility in ongoing trial and arbitration matters. Preference is given to students at the top of their class with law review or journal and advocacy experience. Additionally, the Firm encourages judicial clerkships. Cover letters, resumes, and transcripts should be sent to Addison L. Braun, Director of Marketing and Recruiting.

The biggest draw to the Firm was the people—Beck Redden attorneys all take their work seriously, but not themselves. The collegiality, accessibility, and passion of each person I interacted with made it clear that Beck Redden was the best place for an aspiring trial attorney to develop.

Cassie Maneen, Associate and 2019 Summer Associate

The summer program offered a true look into what it was like to be a young associate at the Firm. I was excited to get to work on real cases and develop real solutions for real clients, and it immediately made me feel like a part of the team.
