On February 9, 2023, Partner, Geoff Gannaway will present “Cost, Interest, and Recovery,” at the TexasBarCLE 15th Annual Damages in Civil Litigation course.
Taxable Costs in Texas Courts addresses what costs are taxable, how much can be taxed, and the procedure for recovering costs at the conclusion of litigation in state and federal courts in Texas. Both state and federal courts permit the prevailing party to recover costs, but the scope of what and how much is recoverable differs starkly between the two. This paper, and subsequent presentation, provide a Texas-specific roadmap to major potential stopping points and destinations on the path to recovering costs—a critical component of resolving litigation.
