Beck Redden LLP is proud to announce that Partner Alex B. Roberts has been appointed as the President of the University of Houston Law Center Alumni Association for the 2021-2022 term. Over the next two years, Alex will be responsible for outreach to more than 17,000 UH Law alums. He will be focusing on improving mentorship, expanding the active alumni network, and increasing scholarships for law students. Alex will also have the honor of participating in the grand opening of the new UH Law Center John M. O’Quinn building in Fall 2022.

“When I was at the Law Center I was a young, naive first-generation law student who knew nothing about practicing law and knew very little about the city of Houston,” Roberts said. “I was aided tremendously by law professors like Lonny Hoffman, John Mixon, Craig Joyce and Robert Ragazzo. I was also aided by many alums like Judge Gray Miller and Judge Jeff Brown. One of the strongest assets of this school is the alumni network and the willingness to sit and listen to students. The time is right to emphasize mentorship. Coming out COVID, so many lawyers and law students have suffered because they have lacked the in-person connection we have benefitted from. There is a year missing in many people’s lives; they will greatly benefit from mentorship.”
