For the 14th year in a row, Beck Redden LLP is an Equal Access to Justice Champion, meeting its commitment through Houston Volunteer Lawyers (HVL) to handle a certain number of pro bono cases each year. According to HVL, since 2007, Beck Redden lawyers have handled 127 pro bono cases through their volunteer network alone. These cases have spanned across civil legal services including guardianship cases, Section 1983 civil rights litigation, claims under U.S. immigration law, family law issues, and more.

At Beck Redden, our lawyers see the chance to apply their legal expertise to make a tangible difference for those in need as both a significant responsibility and a privilege. The Firm has provided thousands of hours of free legal work that has directly and positively impacted its clients’ lives in significant ways, and the work has been instrumental in ensuring these individuals had good counsel and solid guidance through difficult legal issues. Our extensive pro bono work is driven by a deep spirit of volunteerism and a strong commitment to supporting our community.

The Equal Access to Justice Champions Program was started by the Houston Bar Association in 2006 to help ensure placement of Houston Volunteer Lawyers cases with pro bono volunteers. Firms, Corporate Legal Departments, and Solo Practitioners who are interested in participating in the Champions Program pledge to accept, annually, one pro bono case for every five lawyers in their Houston office.
