Petro Star Inc. v. Samshin, Ltd,
Partner Alistair Dawson obtained a complete defense verdict for a client in a products liability lawsuit. The firm client, an international manufacturer of valves, was sued in Texas state court for defective design and manufacturing of a ¾” gate valve that the plaintiff contended failed and caused a fire that resulted in the destruction of a petro chemical refinery in Valdez, Alaska. The plaintiff sought recovery of $58 million in damages for property damage and lost profits. After 3 weeks of trial, the jury returned a complete defense verdict in favor of the firm’s client.
