Beck Redden Secures Jury Verdict for Edloe Finch in Contract Dispute with UNIS

February 10, 2025 Case Study

Edloe Finch, LLC v. UNIS, LLC

On February 7, 2025, after nearly 2 weeks of trial, a Harris County jury delivered a complete verdict in favor of Beck Redden client Edloe Finch, an online furniture company, in its breach of contract lawsuit against warehouse provider UNIS. Edloe Finch filed suit February 2023 after uncovering nearly $800,000 in invoicing discrepancies—such as inflated weights and charges for unused supplies—dating back to January 2021. In response, UNIS filed a breach of contract counterclaim seeking more than $2 million in damages for allegedly unbilled charges and attorney’s fees. The jury found for Edloe Finch on every issue, which entitled Edloe Finch to now seek recovery of its own attorney’s fees from UNIS.

Matthew Whitley and Fariha Jawed tried the case for Beck Redden, while Nick Bruno and Allison Miller provided invaluable assistance in developing the case.
