On September 29, 2023, Maryam Ghaffar and Madison Young Moore participated in a panel with Justice Brett Busby and Ayesha Najam regarding the new business courts in Texas with the South Asian Bar Association (SABA) in Houston, Texas.
The one-hour CLE covered the new Texas Business Courts statute, including jurisdiction, appeals, and timing. Panelists also discussed the impact on the Courts of Appeals and what clients need to know. This CLE luncheon was open to all SABA members and non-members.
The South Asian Bar Association of Houston (SABA Houston) is a local chapter of the South Asian Bar Association of North America, and serves as the regional voice for the South Asian legal community in Houston. SABA Houston is dedicated to the needs, concerns, and interests of lawyers of South Asian heritage by promoting the professional development of the South Asian legal community through networking, advocacy, and mentoring.
