On June 13, 2024, Parth S. Gejji will join a dynamic discussion of “The FTC Ban on Non-Competes and Implications for Texas Litigation” at the Houston Bar Association Appellate Practice Section luncheon. This CLE will cover the recent FTC rule banning certain non-compete agreements and its implications for Texas litigation. Specifically, the following will be discussed: (1) the scope and exceptions to the non-compete ban, (2) the authority of the FTC to issue the rule, (3) current litigation challenging the rule, (4) potential impacts and issues for on-going and future litigation in Texas courts, including on appeals.
About the HBA Appellate Practice Section
The HBA Appellate Practice Section is the largest local appellate bar in the State of Texas. The section holds a monthly luncheon that provides an opportunity for networking with members of the appellate bar and justices from the Houston Courts of Appeals.
