Beck Redden LLP is pleased to announce that the Texas Young Lawyers Association (TYLA) awarded the Houston Young Lawyers Association’s Allyship Committee with the first place award of achievement for its diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in Texas.

As co-chairs of the Allyship Committee, Cassie Maneen and Lena Silva strive to actively promote and advance a culture of equity and inclusion for young lawyers in the legal profession through the delivery of intentional, positive, and thoughtful programming highlighting the intersections of race, gender, and related social injustice issues.

I’m incredibly proud of the work of this committee and look forward to its continued growth in the future. The Houston Young Lawyers have immense potential to enact real change in the communities in which we live and serve, and I extend my appreciation to TYLA for recognizing this. – Cassie Maneen
Thanks to our firm’s generous support, this year the HYLA Allyship Committee went beyond the historic book club meetings to host more inclusive programming aimed at empowering more allies to better face injustices in our community and beyond. TYLA’s recognition of this important work is an honor. – Lena Silva

The Texas Young Lawyers Association is the “public service arm” of the State Bar of Texas. TYLA assists the State Bar in facilitating the administration of justice, fostering respect for rule of the law, and most prominently, advancing the role of lawyers in serving the public.
