Beck Redden LLP is pleased to announce that the State Bar of Texas Local Bar Services Committee will award Alistair B. Dawson with the Judge Sam Williams Award at the State Bar of Texas Annual Meeting on June 22, 2023.
The committee annually honors one individual who demonstrates a commitment to fostering and maintaining the relationship between his or her local bar association and the State Bar of Texas. In addition to being an acclaimed trial lawyer, Alistair consistently demonstrates a commitment to civic engagement by being a board member of the State Bar of Texas and the Houston Bar Foundation as well as serving as the past President of the Houston Bar Association. He continually leads by example in emphasizing excellence in the courtroom and promoting professional responsibility with his involvement in the legal community.
The award, established in 1990, is named in honor of Judge Sam Williams, the long-time president of the Northeast Texas Bar Association. Judge Williams was an outstanding leader of the local bar association, who exemplified the highest ideals of the position and significantly contributed to maintaining the local bar association’s relationship with the State Bar of Texas.
I am honored and humbled to receive the Judge Sam Williams Award. Judge Williams was an incredible person who served his community in many impactful ways and I am truly honored to receive an award in his name. I am thankful to my colleagues at Beck Redden and at the Houston Bar Association who worked with me to provide much-needed services to Houstonians and those in need across our state. – Alistair B.
