Beck Redden partner Russell S. Post, who leads the firm’s appellate practice, has been named one of Law360’s 2026 MVPs of the Year in the Appellate category. He is one of only six appellate lawyers nationwide and the only Texas-based lawyer selected in the category this year.

The honor recognizes significant achievements in high-stakes appeals over the course of the past year, and selection is highly competitive. Across the MVP program, Law360’s editors reviewed nearly 1,000 submissions to determine the 2026 class, which includes more than 170 lawyers from 89 firms across more than 35 categories.

Recognized alongside four D.C.-based honorees, including a former U.S. Solicitor General and a former Acting U.S. Solicitor General, Russell’s inclusion highlights the national reach of Beck Redden’s appellate practice. Based in Houston, Russell and the team represent clients in complex civil appeals and work closely with trial teams on legal issues and appellate strategy.

Among the year’s highlights was a unanimous U.S. Supreme Court victory resolving a circuit split over federal removal jurisdiction. Russell presented oral argument in the case, with the result reflecting the extensive preparation and collaborative work of the Beck Redden team.

Russell’s recognition comes on the heels of Beck Redden’s recent designation as a Texas Powerhouse by Law360.
